Welcome to Ascension Place and St. Anne’s Place!
a letter from the board...
The past two years have been exciting for Ascension Place and St. Anne’s Place.
As a part of our organization’s strategic plan, St. Anne’s Place launched
its Aftercare Program in 2009 to support women and children as they leave
shelter and move to, what we all hope will be, a life of stability. In 2010,
we received a substantial grant from the Heading Home MN Partners Fund to
expand this program to provide aftercare support to young (age 21 and under)
mothers leaving all Hennepin County shelters. And in 2011, with the financial
support of the Curtis L. Carlson Family Foundation and St. Luke’s Presbyterian
Church, Ascension Place, Inc. opened our brand new Next Step Housing Program.
This program is providing permanent, supportive housing to women who have
graduated from Ascension Place. With these new programs, we hope that the
women and children we serve will be able to experience long-term stability
and independence.
We are thankful to every church, business, foundation and concerned community
member who helps to support our programs by making financial gifts, donating
much-needed items or volunteering their time. You are truly making a difference
in the lives of women and children we serve, and together we are taking the
next step toward ending long-term homelessness!
